GEORGETOWN - Robert J. Ridgeway of Georgetown died Sunday, Dec. 31, 2000, in his home. He was 64. Mr. Ridgeway retired in 1975 at the rank of master sergeant from the U.S. Air Force after 20 years of service as a flight engineer. He also was a veteran of the Vietnam War, where he was the recipient of three Distinguished Flying Crosses.

Mr. Ridgeway was a member of the American Legion Fox Post Dover and the Camden-Wyoming Moose Lodge.
He is survived by his Wife, Barbara A. Ridgeway of Georgetown; two sons, Robert J. Ridgeway Jr. of Magnolia and Ronald E. Ridgeway of Portsmouth, Va.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services will 2 p.m. Thursday at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium-Dodd-Carey Chapel, 307 North Bedford St., Georgetown, with the Rev. Richard Blades officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to service.
Burial wall be in Union Cemetery, Georgetown.

Instead of flowers, the damily suggests contributions to: Delaware Hospice, Southern Division, 600 North DuPont Highway, Georgetown, DE 19947.

Like his father-in-law, Frank got into the saloon business and was operating it when he registered for the WW I draft. He was not called to duty - few married men were. Somewhat later he went to work for the Lazarus Co. as an upholsterer and retired after becoming the upholstery department head.

Birdie and Frank always lived in the German south end of Columbus. They had four children there.
